As a member of the Inspired Education Group, proudly educating over 50,000 students across a global network of more than 60 schools, we leverage international best practice to provide our students with a global perspective and a world-class education.

The first Berklee (USA) Artist in Residence workshops recently took place at Reddam House Umhlanga. Artist-in-Residence visits by Berklee (USA) artists provided the opportunity for our students to engage first-hand with experienced musicians. This exclusive partnership with Berklee has successfully spanned across Inspired schools globally since 2019, with artists assigned from Berklee’s award-winning staff, student, and alumni base, who work with school teachers and students to develop contemporary music, dance, theatre and creative education programmes.

The two day workshops on our campus provided our musicians with an opportunity to explore techniques involved in writing and performing a song from conception to performance. We witnessed these new-found skills coming to the fore when these musicians performed at the Official Opening of our Red Deli Cafeteria in the Creative & Performing Arts Centre.

Reddam House schools in South Africa have entered into a partnership with Northern Consortium UK (NCUK), dedicated to providing students with guaranteed access to leading universities in the UK, USA, New Zealand, Australia, and Canada. NCUK is offering the International Foundation Year (IFY) at the Reddam House Waterfall Campus (Johannesburg) and the Reddam House Constantia Campus (Cape Town), as well as an online offering nationally.

The IFY is a seven-month modular bridging course between a Matric qualification and the first year of an international university that leads to global study opportunities. Equivalent to A levels, the IFY has existed internationally since 1987.Reddam House schools are now the first educational institution in South Africa to offer the IFY. 90% of participating students gain access to their first-choice of international university. Completion of the course leads to access to 4 000 degrees.

Please go to www.ncuk.ac.uk/ncuk-qualifications/ncuk-entry-directory for more information.

The qualification is designed for students to be taught in small classes, in their own country, before commencing their undergraduate course. As most international universities begin their year in September, this is ideal for South African matriculants who receive their matric results at the beginning of January, to complete the IFY bridging course from January to July in order to commence their international studies in September. The NCUK Student Services team also provides assistance with university applications, courses, visas and accommodation.

The Inspired Schools Summer Camps give our students the chance to stay at some of Europe’s top boarding schools and take part in programmes including: fashion, design and art in Italy; STEM (Science, Technology & Mathematics), lake and mountain activities in Switzerland; and sport and language camps in Spain. They provide a fantastic opportunity for students to travel, meet peers from other countries, get involved with dynamic, inspiring activities, learning new skills that will stay with them forever. Whereas the impact of COVID-19 has limited international travel for all South Africans, we look forward to the day when our Reddam House Umhlanga students will be able to avail themselves of this opportunity during their July school holidays.

Together with access to overseas exchanges and these unique international summer school experiences, Reddam House Umhlanga offers a distinct advantage over other South African schools and students, providing an exciting educational journey and equipping our Reddam House Umhlanga students with the knowledge, skills and values to face an increasingly challenging, global future with confidence.
